Interesting observations, 14.4.2026

Once spring begins, nothing can stop it!
Even today’s rain didn’t keep us from heading out into the field – and it paid off. We spotted an Osprey and a Glossy Ibis, which is a really nice catch!
In the past few days, we also recorded the first Squacco Herons and the first Common Nightingale of the season. Spring is awakening with full force, and the birds are already arriving and singing.
If the weather doesn’t scare you off, this is the perfect time to get out into the field. Nature rewards the brave.

Today’s most interesting species:

  • Osprey (Pandion haliaetus): 1 ind., laguna
  • Glossy Ibis (Plegadis falcinellus): 1 ind., bonifika
  • Squacco Heron (Ardeola ralloides): 3 ind., bonifika
  • Common Nightingale (Luscinia megarhynchos): 1 ind., bonifika
