On regular weekly bird monitoring in Škocjanski zatok Nature Reserve yesterday (9.10.2012), 56 species of birds were counted or 1.315 specimen.
The most intereresting species observed:
- Great Grey Shrike (Lanius excubitor) – 1 specimen
- Common Redpoll (Carduelis flammea) – 1 specimen
- Sand Martin (Riparia riparia) – 2 specimen
- Northern Lapwing (Vanellus vanellus) – 25 specimen
Other intereresting species observed:
- Eurasian Wigeon (Anas penelope) –43 specimen
- Common Pochard (Aythya ferina) – 1 male
- Black-necked Grebe (Podiceps nigricollis) – 5 specimen
- Pygmy Cormorant (Phalacrocorax pygmeus) – 4 specimen
- Northern Shoveler (Anas clypeata) – 45 specimen
- Common Sandpiper (Actitis hypoleucos) – 1 specimen
- Greenshank (Tringa nebularia) – 10 specimen
- Eurasian Curlew (Numenius arquata) – 3 specimen
- Common Kingfisher (Alcedo atthis) – 2 specimen
- Penduline Tit (Remiz pendulinus) – 43 osebkov
- Sedge Warbler (Acrocephalus schoenobaenus) – 1 specimen
- Reed Warbler (Acrocephalus scirpaceus) – 19 specimen
- Whinchat (Saxicola rubetra) – 1 specimen
- Common Stonechat (Saxicola torquata) – 5 specimen
- Hedge Accentor (Prunella modularis) – 2 specimen
- Yellow Wagtail (Motacilla flava) – 1 specimen
- Tree Pipit (Anthus trivialis) – 4 specimen
- Water Pipit (Anthus spinoletta) – 4 specimen
- Linnet (Carduelis cannabina) – 1 specimen
- Hawfinch (Coccothraustes coccothraustes) – 7 specimen
The most numerous were Common Coot (Fulica atra – 366 specimen) and Mallard (Anas platyrhynchos – 254 specimen).
