The most intereresting species observed on regular weekly bird monitoring in Škocjanski zatok Nature Reserve:
- Red Knot (Calidris canutus) – 1 (juv) specimen
- Spotted Crake (Porzana porzana) – 1 specimen
- Curlew Sandpiper (Calidris ferruginea) – 2 (juv) specimen
- Ruff (Philomachus pugnax) – 1 specimen
- Northern Wheatear (Oenanthe oenanthe) – 2 specimen
- Whinchat (Saxicola rubetra) – 4 specimen
- Garden Warbler (Sylvia borin) – 2 (juv) specimen
- Tree Pipit (Anthus trivialis)
Other intereresting species observed:
- Purple Heron (Ardea purpurea) – 1 specimen
- Squacco Heron (Ardeola ralloides ) – 1 specimen
- Northern Shoveler (Anas clypeata) – 15 specimen
- Eurasian Curlew (Numenius arquata) – 5 specimen
- Common Sandpiper (Actitis hypoleucos)
- Common Redshank (Tringa totanus) – 3 specimen
- Wood Sandpiper (Tringa glareola)
- Greenshank – (Tringa nebularia)
- Common Kingfisher (Alcedo atthis) – 1 specimen
- Rufous Nightingale (Luscinia megarhynchos)– 8 specimen
The most numerous were Mallards (Anas platyrhynchos ,279 specimen) and Common Teals (Anas crecca – 98 specimen).
